New Trends in Pakistani HR Profession

Pakistani organizations are witnessing a continuous   change in systems, management cultures and philosophy due to the global alignment. Role of HR manager is shifting from that of a protector and screener to the role of a planner and change agent. Personnel directors are the new corporate heroes.

Organizations now need to prepare themselves in order to address people centered issues with commitment from the top management, with renewed thrust on HR issues, more particularly on training .To leapfrog ahead of competition in this world of uncertainty, organizations have introduced six- sigma practices. Six- sigma uses rigorous analytical tools with leadership from the top and develops a method for sustainable improvement. These practices improve organizational values and helps in creating defect free product or services at minimum cost.
Human resource outsourcing is a new accession that makes a traditional HR department redundant in an organization.

With the increase of job mobility, recruiting competent people is also increasingly becoming difficult; organizations are also required to work out a retention strategy for the existing skilled manpower.

Training and development extends beyond information and orientation training to include sensitivity training and field experiences

Compensation systems should support the overall strategic intent of the organization but should be customized for local conditions.
HR Managers should do the following things to ensure success-

Employ innovative reward plans that recognize employee contributions and grant enhancements.
Indulge in continuous quality improvement through TQM and HR contributions like training, development, counseling, etc
Utilize people with distinctive capabilities to create unsurpassed competence in an area, e.g.
Decentralize operations and rely on self-managed teams to deliver goods in difficult times e.g.
HR Managers today are focusing attention on the following-
a) Policies- HR policies based on trust, openness, equity and consensus.
b) Motivation- Create conditions in which people are willing to work with zeal, initiative and enthusiasm; make people feel like winners.
c) Relations- Fair treatment of people and prompt redress of grievances would pave the way for healthy work-place relations.
d) Change agent- Prepare workers to accept technological changes by clarifying doubts.
e) Quality Consciousness- Commitment to quality in all aspects of personnel administration will ensure success.

Due to the new trends in HR, in a nutshell the HR manager should treat people as resources, reward them equitably, and integrate their aspirations with corporate goals through suitable HR policies.


Goodbye 2014

How quickly time elapse without letting us know of it’s presence, we are drifting by one year to other and it’s the last day of year-2014.

Indeed each year gave some food for the thought either it’s good or bad but depicts some memories(Good/bad), teach us lessons(Worth/Vain), drive us towards(goal/aim) and sometime apart us from that.

By start of the year each individual set some goals and make planning to achieve them. May be some of us have achieved them and some of them till strive for. Those who couldn’t achieve their set plans, before making other goals should revised their previous planning and dig out the reason why they are failed to achieve them. As doctor couldn’t understand the disease and reason of illness than he would be unable to cure it. As govt of any country don’t find the reason of any problem like: (Poverty, Militarism, Illiteracy) than It would be unable to make any policy for the welfare of its nation. So, It’s damn essential to find the reasons for failure.

The planning for next year could be made if we find out three big answers of question?? As Jeff pointed out:

1)- Where have I settled?

2)-Did I measure the wrong?

3)-Where have I failed?

If a person find out the answers for these question than he/she would be good at planning his/her goals.

I am not a professional writer but a common student, a student who wanted to share mother’s true affection for their children. It’s about my mother whom I love the MOST.

Today’s morning, I got up early in the morning for my daily routine- (going to university). It was cold morning of December freezing and breezy morning with full of fog. I got ready and upstairs of my home to have my daily break-fast. I asked my mother for break-fast, She replied, I couldn’t make breakfast for you dheeya (daughter) because of sui-gas load-shading the gas were too slow to cook anything, she continued, “Though I got up early in the morning to make something for you as you were to go but yet couldn’t, due to miserable condition of gas_ (it has become the major problem of Pakistan now a days). She more said but, I managed to make tea for you as you can have it with bread and there must be something in your stomach. I hugged ammi and said need not to be worry about me and she replied, “You can’t understand mother’s love”. I remained calm for a while and had break-fast.

Throughout whole journey from home to university, I was thinking how mothers care for their children without any definite reward; they got up earlier in cold breezy mornings just to fill our stomach it’s just one example, there where number of things where coming over my mind at that time. Tears were rolling down from my cheeks and I was thinking for my mother’s true affection for me. Indeed God created a virtue ANGEL in the form of mother, an angel who always remained with us every where (like mother’s prayers does), an angel, an angel who writes our virtues earlier and delayed our sins to write (like mother always guide us for good things and apart us from ill-will).

In Islam, The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) last prophet of Allah said in a famous narration:

“Paradise lies at the feet of your mother”. Indeed she deserves that much honor and gratitude.

In Bible, Proverbs 31:25-30

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”

Whatever the religion we follow, but the honor of mother’s remains prominent and at always at high grid of affection, care & sincerity. I love you Ami a lot you mean world to me. I thanks to my God who blessed me with such a precious gift. May Allah give you healthy health; May He gives you long life. Ameen Sum Ameen. I also pray for all mothers of this world may every child spend his/her life with such an angel.
